Sylvia is Founder/CEO GlobalX Investments Limited, an ICT & Telecoms Consultancy. She also serves as the Project Director for GlobalX Innovations Labs Initiative. Sylvia is a 2014 TechWomen Fellow, a Silicon Valley/Bay Area STEM program run by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It was initiated by Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State. TechWomen empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in STEM from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East. She is also Next Einstein Forum Ambassador for Kenya 2015-2017.She is Country Co-Founder/Kenya Chapter Lead and Operations Board Member of Women in Tech Africa, a 2018 UN EQUALS’ Award Winning Organisation in the Leadership Category. She is actively involved in Kenya’s tech ecosystem. This earned her a mention in the closing speech of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya by Maria Contreras Sweet, the then US Government’s Lead Minister on Entrepreneurship and member of former President Obama’s cabinet.
